Terms of Service – The Burning Bug

Welcome to The Burning Bug.

By accessing or using our website (theburningbug.com), placing an order, or engaging with our content, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Products & Availability

All items are produced in limited quantities and are subject to availability. We reserve the right to modify, replace, or discontinue any product at any time without prior notice.

We do our best to ensure product descriptions and images are accurate. However, minor variations may occur. We reserve the right to correct errors or inaccuracies without prior notice.

2. Pricing & Payment

Prices are listed in euros (€) and include VAT (where applicable). Payments are processed securely through our trusted payment providers. Orders are not considered final until payment has been successfully processed. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any order for any reason, including suspected fraud.

3. Orders & Shipping

Orders are typically processed within 2–4 business days. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your order has shipped, including tracking information where available.

Once a package leaves our studio, responsibility transfers to the shipping carrier. If your order is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us — we will assist in filing a claim, but cannot guarantee compensation unless insured shipping was selected.

4. Returns & Refunds

Unused items in original condition may be returned within 14 days of delivery.
To initiate a return, please email us at hello@theburningbug.com. Once approved, return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer (unless the item was received damaged or incorrect). Refunds are processed within 7 business days after we receive and inspect the returned item.

Please note: burned candles, worn garments, or mysterious disappearances don’t qualify for returns.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, designs, images, and products on this site are the intellectual property of The Burning Bug. You may not use, copy, or reproduce any part of this website without our written consent.

If you believe any content on our website infringes on your intellectual property rights, please contact us. We will investigate and remove content where appropriate.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, The Burning Bug’s liability shall be limited to the amount paid for the product in question.

Use our products at your own risk.

Candles are flammable. Always burn them on a heat-resistant surface, away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

While we take care in creating and packaging each item, we cannot be held responsible for:

  • Injuries or property damage caused by improper candle burning or use

  • Allergic reactions to materials (please check product descriptions)

  • Accidents or misuse beyond our control

By purchasing from The Burning Bug, you acknowledge that you understand and accept these risks.

7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes shall be resolved by the competent court in the Netherlands.

8. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, strikes, or supplier failure.
